Of the nearly one-quarter of adults in the United States who struggle with chronic pain, knee and back pain represent a large share of the overall problem. Fortunately, we have some great solutions.

If you find that each day is a struggle due to back pain or knee pain that’s preventing you from doing the things you really enjoy, never mind just getting around in the world, you’re not alone.

Nearly one-quarter of adults in the United States deal with chronic pain, and back pain and knee pain account for a significant fair share of the overall burden.

As our name implies — Apex Pain Specialists — , our team focuses on solving persistent pain riddles. Dr. Naveen Reddy and Dr. Maziar Massrour understand that back and knee pain can be complex and frustrating, but we assure you that we work tirelessly until each patient finds relief. Here’s how.

A closer look at knee pain

Your knees are some of the hardest working joints in your body because they’re responsible for your mobility, as well as supporting and carrying your body weight.

As a result, knees are more prone to injury and damage, which explains why one-quarter of adults in the US report knee pain.

Each of your knees joins together four bones — your thigh bone, shinbones, and kneecap — and these bones are stabilized and supported by ligaments, tendons, and cartilage. The point here is that there are many ways in which you can be left with persistent knee pain, such as:

  • Knee osteoarthritis (OA)
  • Ligament tears, which tend to occur in the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)
  • Dislocations
  • Meniscus tears
  • Patellar instability
  • Tendonitis
  • Bursitis

Notice that we’re focusing on those overuse types of injuries that lead to chronic knee pain.

No matter what’s causing your knee pain, our goal is to bring you relief, which we can accomplish with one or more of these therapies:

Alongside these therapies, which we administer in our office, we also recommend longer-term strategies, such as physical therapy (PT). So, once we relieve your knee pain, it’s a great idea to use this time to rebuild support in your knee through PT.

Solving the back pain puzzle

Now let’s move up to the back, which is especially common — over 50% of American adults report some experience with back pain.

There are many sources of back pain, and a good number of them are degenerative in nature, which means the issue is chronic and irreversible. Examples of this include:

Since there’s no turning back the clock on these types of back pain, our goal is to look forward and find the best ways to get you back on your feet and moving freely. Some of our back pain workhorses include:

Just like with your knees, when we find what works to relieve your pain, we then  encourage you to work on core strengthening and stabilization through PT that will strengthen your back.

So, whether you’re hobbled by knee pain or back pain, we want you to know that we’ve got you covered. To figure out which treatment is best for your persistent pain, please call our office in Chandler, Arizona, at 480-820-7246 or book an appointment online today.
